All of my boutonnieres are created from a single feather accented with a one of a kind jewel accent stone or brooch, a silk / satin ribbon stem wrap. I can custom design a matching bridal bouquet to coordinate with your colors creating a very unique couture looking piece for your wedding. These pieces start at around $75. each .

Something Bleu (petite handbag) is the first Heather Bell Exclusive created for La Plume Couture. Haute Couture in French means “high sewing” the word Couture has the same meaning “in spirit”. The creation of exclusive custom made to order pieces for a specific customer. Sewn with attention to detail & finish.

I discovered Aunty Mary Lou’s Na Lima Mili Hulu No’eau on Kapahulu Ave. and met with Mele to learn & perfect my technique of feathering. With a desire to stay true to the skilled handiwork of Hawaiian feathering I perfected my technique.

The natural flirty & feminine quality of the baby blue maribou feathers took on a “life of it’s own” and inspired me. As a sculptor would shape a piece of clay the natural beauty was revealed.

My signature design element is the juxtaposition of feathers & embellishments that add interest. Unexpected strands of pewter & rhinestone knotted chains as a shoulder strap, multi-colored Swarovski crystal buttons & jewels add sparkle & whimsy to the nostalgic accent of a vintage brooch.

May Arts Ribbon Collection

I am so in love with May Arts 2010 designer ribbon collection. When I set out on my journey of designing the first bridal collection for La Plume Couture this year, I stumbled across a silk ribbon in my sewing box & knew I wanted to create the adornment handles with one of May Arts exclusive ribbons. This bouquet featured below was from our Maui La Plume Collection featuring a beautiful raw silk champagne/taupe & shell pink ribbon. I love the feel of combining silk & plumes together. This was a winning combo!! The handle is adorned with mother of pearl baubles & stones.

La Plume Couture’s Debut launch in Pacific Weddings Magazine

We were so honored & blown away by the 6 page editorial spread that La Plume Couture received in the current summer/fall issue of Pacific Weddings Magazine. Personal thanks to Heather for standing by my side for countless hours of brainstorming, sleepless nights & designing your chic collection of hand bags for La Plume. Your makeup & styling design was awesome. Christie Nix, your amazing video production of our photo shoot brought me to tears! Eric & Wendy of L’amour – your shoot was so beautiful that we were featured in the current summer/fall 2010 issue of Pacific Wedding Magazine. Dave, Chrissy, Jeanne & Jason thank you for your amazing product shots. It was so much fun working with you all. Mel, thank you for your lovely hair designs for our model shots.
